If you are a constant user of WhatsApp, then you might have often indulged in an irksome job of scrolling out all undesirable chats only to spot your favorite chat, then this news might come to you as a relief.

Yes, the new feature of WhatsApp allows you to ‘pin’ your favorite chats so that they always stay on the top of your WhatsApp list. This feature is currently available only in the beta version and is expected to roll out officially very soon.

And yes, you guessed it right, this feature is quite similar to that of the ‘pin the post’ feature on Twitter and Facebook. In Twitter, an individual can ‘pin’ their important tweet whereas, in Facebook, this feature is limited only to Groups where only the admin of the group can pin a post but not the individual.

WhatsApp users can pin up to three important chats, but when the fourth chat is also pinned, WhatsApp sends a notification that there can be only 3 pinned chats or less than this.

This is how the new feature works:

  • Open WhatsApp Messanger on your phone
  • Long press your favorite chat
  • Pin option appears right next to the delete option
  • Click on the pin icon
  • Your favorite chat appears on the top of your chat list
  • To unpin a chat, long press the pinned chat and click on the unpin icon

To experience this new feature, you simply have to sign up for the beta program from the Google Play Store or wait until this feature rolls out officially.
