Google has now become the most popular brand in the world, breaking the five time record set by Apple.

According to reports by Brand Finance, Google’s brand value for 2017 is $109 billion and it is $107 for Apple. Apple has been making records for the past five consecutive years from 2011 until Google broke it in 2017.

Google tops the list of becoming the most valuable brand in the world, Apple becomes the second company followed by Amazon, AT&T, Microsoft, Samsung, Verizon, Walmart, Facebook, and ICBC.

Brand Finance Analysts feel that Apple had over-exploited the goodwill of its customers. Apple was constantly failing to generate revenue from its newly launched products such as Apple Watch. It also failed to demonstrate innovative technologies which are desired by their customers.

Google’s brand value was $88 billion in 2016 and it escalated to $109 billion in 2017, on the other hand, Apple’s brand value was $145 billion in 2016 which had a fall to $107 billion this year.

Apple’s iPhone 7 failed to maintain the market value whereas Google’s 2016 was pretty good with the Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones and other hardware designs.

Rozana, India’s leading rural retail platform, has secured ₹290 crore ($35 million) in a Series B funding round led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII), with participation from Omidyar Network India, Vivid Capital, and Tana Investment Holding. This Rozana funding brings its total capital to over ₹500 crore, fueling hyperlocal expansion in underserved rural markets. Founded in 2021 by brothers Prashant and Prateek Chauhan, the startup’s phygital model blends micro-stores, app-based ordering, and last-mile delivery to connect 5 million+ users in 12 states with brands like ITC and HUL.

The ₹290 crore investment will supercharge Rozana’s rural omnichannel retail strategy, targeting 5x growth in 18 months. Plans include adding 5,000 micro-stores in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan; AI-powered inventory tech; and new categories like groceries and electronics. By empowering 20,000+ rural micro-entrepreneurs, Rozana taps into India’s $700 billion rural retail boom, where smartphone penetration and UPI drive 12% annual growth.
