WhatsApp is the most popular messaging application in the world with more than 1 billion users across 180 countries. WhatsApp came up with a new video calling feature in November 2016. With this video calling feature, WhatsApp became a tough competitor to other popular video calling applications like Microsoft’s Skype, Google’s Duo and Apple’s Facetime.
The usage of video calling feature is gradually increasing because of the cheaper data plans and Reliance Jio’s free promotional internet packs as well.
According to data shared by WhatsApp, globally its users make 55 million video calls per day, of approximately 340 million minutes. Among these India is the top country in the video calling feature usage with over 50 million video calling minutes per day.
