Ranging from the positive kind to the negative kind, there are several types of people one faces at work on a regular basis. While the happy and positive types are always fun to work with, the negative nellies are the worst! There is always that one person who makes your life difficult. Here are some of the people at work who are always negative and always ready to pull you down no matter what. If you know these people, but do not know how to deal with them, then these tips might help you!
1. The ones with the bad news
There are certain people at work who always bring bad news when they come to see you. These are the kinds who cannot wait to tell you the mistake someone else did or whether someone is going to get fired. However, while they like reveling in another person’s bad news, it is not entirely a good thing for you to hear this negativity all the time, right?
2. The ones who are always gossiping
The rumour mills are always running at the workplace. The gossipers are the ones who always get the news in the beginning, even though it never really is true. Unfortunately, substantial or not, these rumours keep repeating over and over again, lighting fuel to an already large fire! My advice? Stay as far away from these people as possible because when push comes to shove, they will walk away, leaving you to deal with the rubble they left behind!
3. The dramatic ones
Colleagues like these are my least favourite. They think they do the most work and everyone else in the company is against them. Not only do they think they do the most amount of work, they also think they have the worst luck with EVERYTHING in life. Being level headed with these people does not always work, so I have come up with another solution. Every time I am faced with these type of people, I make sure I one up their dramatics, putting them in a tight spot. Trust me, this move always works!
4. The ones who are always pessimistic
No, these are not the same as compared to the negative ones. Truth be told, the negative ones are slightly better. They always have something negative to say, no matter how good the news is. One of the ways I deal with people like this is to let them know how much their negative attitude affects those around them. Tell them you do not like it and make sure you let them know soon! The sooner you tell them, the easier your life is, I promise!
There are a lot more I can think of, but honestly, that would just affect your day negatively, rather than having a positive one. If you think we missed out on any people who affect your work day in a negative manner like these, comment and let us know!
