YouTube Lowers Requirements For Mobile Livestreams
YouTube some time ago introduced mobile livestreams feature, but it was limited only to channels with at least 10,000 subscribers. This feature, however, targetted those large content creators but was not a very good fit for regular users.
In order to make the live streaming option more user-friendly, YouTube is now extended to more users. Starting from today, channel owners with a minimum of 1000 subscribers can go live on mobile.
Live streaming on YouTube is quite an easy job
- Streaming live on your YouTube channel is a pretty easy job. After meeting your subscriber requirements, simply click the Creator Studio Tools and enable live streaming.
- Then use the YouTube mobile app to create a live stream.
- YouTube automatically saves an archive for you as well.
By lowering the requirements for mobile live streaming, YouTube can have a larger pool of content for sure. And this feature of YouTube is still lagging behind in the race as Facebook is way ahead in the casual live stream race.
Facebook launched its Live feature just a year ago and has grown a lot by the end of 2016. Users already got used to Facebook Live for their live streams and now this is Google’s serious effort to make their users switch over to YouTube.
