Five Indians Made It To World Economic Forum’s 100 Young Global Leaders List
Five Indians made it to the World Economic Forum’s 2017 “100 Young Global Leaders List.” Paytm’s CEO and Founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma was one among them.
Others were Shruti Shibulal of Tamara Hospitality, Hindol Sengupta (Editor at large Fortune India,) Rwitwika Bhattacharya (CEO at Swaniti initiative) and Ambarish Mitra ( Founder and CEO at Blippar).
On the whole, there were 9 young leaders from South Asia and out of which five were from India. Besides these, there were leaders of Indian origin in the US and Europe who were named in the list.
Every year WEF (World Economic Forum) selects 100 young leaders under the age of 40, who have proven themselves good at tackling the hardest tasks with innovative approaches.
WEF said: “This year’s class of 100 Young Global Leaders is divided as between business and not for profit sectors – building a global community of peers who can focus on talents and experience to bridge divides that exist in our present society and achieve more together than they could do it individually.”
Two of the world’s top scientists who worked on genome editing: Luhan Yang (Chief Scientist at eGenesis Biosciences and Feng Zhang (a core member of the Board Institute of MIT and Harvard) were also featured in the WEF 2017 list.
Well, these five Indians really stand as an inspiration for the entire crowd of our Nation.
