Snapchat Inc., adds a new feature making it a real time YouTube. Yes, this messaging app adds an option for the users to search through photos and videos that users have posted to the public. This is something like the video sharing option by YouTube.

This announcement came just after its major rival Facebook encouraged users to take as many photos and allowed to add effects with the help of digital sketches that show some flavors of SnapChat.

Snapchat users can search for photos and videos known as ‘Snaps’ posted to the ‘Our Story’ option on the app by creating new ‘Stories’. ‘Our Story’ allows users to post their snaps as a part of a larger public collection which the users can search for the latest updates. For instance, you type ‘cat,’ then you will be shown all the stories related to cats.

You can search for over one million stories on Snapchat. Snapchat is rolling out in selected places and will soon roll on all over. There are many ‘stories’ related platforms like Facebook Stories, Whatsapp Stories, Instagram Stories and Messenger Day. In order to keep a healthy competition among these, Snapchat should try to set apart with a new feature that seems useful.
