When I started my YouTube channel in 2010, I never imagined one day it would be the most subscribed channel in the world and that I would be a part of such a great community- PewDiePie

Five years after dropping out of competitive industrial engineering program to focus full time on his YouTube channel, Swedish gamer Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg now earns an estimated $15 million. Similarly, Superwoman also known as Lilly Singh earns $7.5 million from her channel that she started to combat depression.

But what can an entrepreneur learn from these YouTube Millionaires? Multiple life lessons.

1. You don’t have to be born that way
One point that is consistent with all YouTube stars is that they were previously doing something else, working somewhere else before turning to YouTube full time. They weren’t born in a business minded family nor were they taught how to do what they do. A majority of YouTube stars took what they do best and turned it into a lifeline.

2. Keep moving on
Hater’s gonna hate. But you have to shake it off. Even Galileo was called an idiot for claiming the world was round. If you want to be an entrepreneur, then know your stuff and strut your stuff and never let anyone tell you otherwise. Every successful entrepreneur today faced harsh criticism and came out stronger.

3. Honesty is the best policy
The majority of the YouTubers play different roles on screen but remain true to themselves. They don’t try to be someone else or be fake just to gain more views. The audience nowadays can spot a fake person from far away. Be true to yourself and to your audience. The whole realm of YouTube is based on honest communication through videos and vlogs.

4. Collaborations
Canadian Lilly Singh, and Indian comedy group AIB have collaborated with each other on various videos. Many established YouTube stars help out the newest members through shout outs, cameo appearances and collaborations. The startup world is also very similar. Help those you can and seek help when you can’t. Collaborate with a company that shares similar ideals and vision for the growth of your company and theirs.

5. Your talent is your strength
A lot of the YouTubers do what they are good at. Justin Bieber was a YouTube star who now rules the music world. Understand what your strength is, acknowledge your setbacks and work with what you have. Your strength will become your trademark in the industry. Being unique, having a distinct voice will also add to your personality. Be a Bawse

Startups are hard work. But it’s like Confucius said. Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
