When Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger launched Instagram in 2010, little did people think it would become one of the most used social media platforms in the world today. While you probably know a lot of facts about this app, there are still some hidden features and unknown facts about this tool. Check them out here:

1. The most Instagrammed food

When people started using Instagram on a regular basis, they had a slight problem in figuring out what to post on their profiles.  Slowly but surely, people uploaded food pictures on a regular basis. Of all the food pictures on Instagram, did you know, the most Instagrammed food is pizza first and then sushi?  You know you have posted pictures of pizza on Instagram at least once!

2. Pin your post to Pinterest

While Pinterest isn’t listed as a linkable profile on Instagram, there are still ways you can share your Instagram posts on Pinterest.  In order to do this, all you have to do is copy the link of the post you published. Once you copy the link, open the Pinterest app on your phone and tap the plus sign icon at the top right of the screen to add a new Pin.  The moment you add the link, Pinterest will automatically post the Instagram post on your profile! Despite being slightly cumbersome, this hack is quite a cool one!

3. You can now create collages directly on Instagram

Until a while ago, you couldn’t create collages on Instagram directly.  You had to use third party apps to create a collage, save it and then upload it on to your profile.  However, with the recently updated version of this app, users can now create a collage without using third parties.  All you have to do is to select the collage feature and voila! You can create one by using any of the nine templates available within the app.

4. The most used hashtags

One of the primary reasons why Instagram is so instrumental and famous is because of the hashtags.  While people use more than three to four hashtags on a post, the most common ones used to get maximum reach are #Love, #instagood #love #photooftheday #cute #tbt #beautiful #selfie #me #tagforlikes #followme #fashion #summer #likes4likes #happy #art #fun #friends #smile #girl #repost and #instadaily. 5. Hide stories without unfollowing

Have you ever had someone on your friend’s list who keeps spamming you with stories?  Whatever the reason, we always have that one person whose content we don’t like, but have to keep on our followers list, no matter what.  Just like how you can mute chats on WhatsApp, the new Instagram upgrade lets you mute other people’s stories as well! Just hold the profile for a while and mute them if you do not want to see their stories. If you change your mind, you can just unmute them!
