There are times in your life when you end up finding yourself at a breaking point. You land at a stage where you do not know what you want and keep thinking about why you are doing what you are. There may be times when you just want to quit. If you have been in this situation like this, then this might just motivate you into wanting to NOT put down your papers!

1. Have regular, but small goals

Goals are important. They help you work towards what you want from work and makes you push yourself harder every day. Completing a large project is a hard thing, especially when you do not know what the end goal is. Rather than focusing on a large, scary goal, take one thing at a time and break the big goal into ideas you can digest one at a time.

2. Make a to do list

Lists are fun. Lists are important. They help you prioritize what needs to be done first, so you can work your way to the last thing. When you make a list, you get motivated toward the bigger picture and your life at work gets manageable. An added bonus here? The more things you tick off the list, the more you know you accomplished. Lists are a definite solution to making life easy and breezy!

3. Breaks are IMPORTANT

When you are stuck in the middle of several on going ongoing projects, you more often than not you forget the importance of taking time out for yourself. Breaks are necessary, breaks improve your thought process and breaks help you get in touch with reality. A point to note here: when you do take breaks, make sure you completely disconnect yourself! This helps in making sure you get back to work with a fully recharged body and mind, enabling you to work better than ever!

4. Do not think but do it

You know how Nike’s slogan says “Just Do It?” It hits home because not a lot of people think about doing this. Instead of waiting around for things to happen, get out there and get them done. The sense of accomplishment you have when you do the unexpected is beyond what you can think of, so get off your back and make the most of the day!

5. Make your wins count

We never really realise how important wins are. Even if it’s a minor accomplishment, celebrate it and make sure it goes on your list of wins! Treat yourself with small things and do not underestimate how gratifying it can feel to recognize tiny advancements.

Keeping yourself motivated at work is not an easy task. However, if you keep reminding yourself of the bigger things in life, getting there is not going to be a hard thing at all!
