What Drives A Successful Entrepreneur!

Do or do not. There is no try. This is pretty much what drives an entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur one tends to realize that the whole experience is one leap of faith after another. Risk becomes second nature and on the spot decisions become a habit. But what are some of the other traits every entrepreneur should have to taste success like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg?
Hint- It has nothing to do with dropping out of college.

1. It’s not about the money
If you’re in the startup business to make a quick buck, quit. Startups are all about the long haul. They take a considerable amount of time and dedication to be set up, register and finally produce the product. Every successful entrepreneur has always wanted to prove something to the world rather than mint money. Rome was not built in a day and neither will your startup.

2. It’s passion 
Passion and not fashion. Don’t become an entrepreneur with a flashy new startup because it’s in vogue. Entrepreneurship is about being in love with your work. It’s about wanting to fulfill your age old dream and watching it come alive. It’s about doing something creative, innovative, new and most importantly doing it by yourself. It’s imprinted in their DNA.

3. Need to create your own product
Most of the successful entrepreneurs have created something that the world at large cannot live without now. It wasn’t necessarily because we couldn’t live without those inventions but because they wanted to create something so lasting it would surpass their time. Facebook was supposed to be for an elite group of people to remain connected with each other. Amazon was initially meant only for books. Today, the whole world has come to rely on them for their daily lives.

4. The thrill of competition and adventure
Startups are not for the weak hearts. If you find yourself unable to take risky decisions or jump across barriers not knowing what is on the other side, then becoming an entrepreneur is not your calling. A major part of owning your own business is having to make decisions without knowing what the consequences might be or how the situation will be resolved. Every successful entrepreneur understands the kind of risks they will have to take and is ready to lead their team head on, into the unknown. Airbnb was supposed to help people out while traveling but now is a billion dollar industry.

5. Empathy
Empathy might seem a little orthodox but many startups were launched with the desire to help other people in similar situations, or to make the world a better place. Elon Musk led Tesla was started because General Motors called back all electric vehicles. The drive to become an entrepreneur does not have to stem from the need to help yourself first. It can also come from the desire to bring an idea to life for the betterment of people around you.
