Uber’s Top Trends Of 2017 – Year With Uber
Uber, the taxi hailing startup giant, has had an interesting year, to say the least. Marking the year end, the cab aggregator released a round up of the most memorable moments from Uber trips over the past 12 months. In 2017, the company hit the 500 millionth trip milestone in July and the riders and driver partners have traveled over 5.8 billion kilometers together.
To mark the end of another year, the company released a fun and interactive rewind video with personalized insights. Uber announced its Year With Uber video that includes trip data of the riders mixed with an animated music video with a backdrop of colorful characters and foot tapping music. For this year’s end of the year video, Uber launched a new micro website yearwithuber.com which takes the users through Uber’s year in India and their year with Uber. For checking their “Year with Uber,” users can sign in with their Uber login credentials at the micro website.
According to the company, Indians had a pretty exciting journey in 2017. While that most Ubers were taken on the 11 August 2017, a rider in New Delhi took the highest number of Uber rides by taking 1,969 trips. Meanwhile, a female rider in Hyderabad took a record 1,162 Pool trips this year. Over the globe, Indians took an Uber in 566 cities in 80 countries. In an official statement, Uber said, “Each video is created with scenes informed by riders’ riding patterns, making the music video unique to them.”
Speaking about the initiative, the Head of Marketing of Uber India, Sanjay Gupta said, “We are excited to launch a campaign that takes inspiration from the everyday experiences of our riders across over 100 cities in the Asia-Pacific region, including 29 cities in India.” According to the company, India was also the second largest contributor for Uber to reach 5 billion trips globally, after the US. Uber India also completed 2 million trips this year and celebrated the first year anniversary of UberMoto.
After gruesome scandals and lawsuits, the end of the year video marks a new beginning for the highest valued startup.
