IRCTC Introduces The Cash On Delivery Facility Of Booked Tickets
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC,) the vital subsidiary of Indian Railways which handles the online ticketing, catering and tourism operations, has introduced a new option– cash on delivery of tickets to the passengers.
It allows passengers to book tickets online and pay cash on delivery of the tickets. Previously, passengers could book tickets online and pay through multiple payment methods. This new Pay On Delivery (PoD,) feature will probably increase the number of users to book tickets online.
To avail this PoD, facility, the customer should register once, by using an Aadhaar card or a PAN card.
Additional charges for the PoD are Rs.90/- plus sales tax for transactions up to Rs. 5000, and Rs.120/- plus sales tax for transactions above Rs. 5000.
In case of cancellation of the ticket or refusal of the ticket before the delivery, the customer is subjected to pay the cancellation and delivery charges.
