Google’s Android O: Second Developers Preview
Google released the second developer’s preview of its latest operating system Android O. By the looks of it, Google is targeting areas that need improvement. From battery life to better multi-tasking abilities and easier notification updates.
A key feature that can be expected in Android O is its ability to be more fluid, allowing users to be more productive and enjoy multi-tasking. With the addition of Picture in Picture mode, users can now tap the home button while watching a YouTube video and the video will pop into a small window while you can navigate other apps. Notification Dots, a new addition lets the user get an immediate list of short link actions including viewing the app notifications right there in a tiny pop-up window.
It also announced a new feature called the Smart Text Selection that improves copy and paste options through machine learning. This feature can recognize contexts on screens such as phone numbers and addresses, copy the whole thing with a double tap and bring up Maps or Phone apps.
For better battery life Android O will also include features under the banner of Vitals. Vitals is set to include security tools, OS optimization, and tools for developers to better suit your device usage.

Android O will also include plenty of other features such as WiFi Awareness, which allows your Android O device to communicate with other devices in the vicinity over WiFi without requiring an actual internet connection.
Google is set to release the third and fourth developers preview in mid-June and mid-July respectively while the public release for select devices can be expected in late August or early September.
