Google To Add Backup and Sync Feature to Entire Computer
Google Drive is the cloud storage option provided by Google for users to store files within reach from any smartphone, tablet or computer. The search engine giant recently announced that backup and sync will be a new tool available for the users to store their files across devices.
The Backup and Sync option will allow files to be stored from any location on the device and not have to be stored on the Google Drive. This feature will include the entire documents folder, the desktop, and any other more specific locations.
Primarily intended for consumer user, this latest tool will be launched on 28 July. In a post updated by Google, business users are recommended to stick with the existing Drive app for now till their Drive File Stream is made available.
The new tool will allow users to backup more than just pictures and videos and select folders on the computer to be backed up on the drive. But all these files to be stored are mostly likely to eat away at the 15 GB free storage available. This smart move by Google will provide the users with a little flexibility in syncing their apps.
